Heads up, PC gamers. id Software's Peter Sokal has lifted the veil off of the PC requirements for Raven Software's Wolfenstein revamp. The good news is even those with older rigs can run the game. Specs after the jump.

Now that id Software has been acquired by ZeniMax, the veteran game studio is using some of the extra cash by putting together a new development team. More after the jump.

Doom and Rage (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) developer id Software has joined Bethesda Softworks under the wings of new parent company ZeniMax. A press release announcing the acquisition of the former by the latter has just been released.

Some Nazi hunting will be in order this August, as Activision has finally announced a release date for Raven Software's Wolfenstein revamp. The game is now set for release on August 4 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Gamers in Europe will get it on August 7.

Following the rather shaky start for the free FPS, Quake Live, id Software is now ready to give the browser shooter some major updates. Marty Stratton of id posts details of the update on the Quake Live Forum, where he confirms new additions coming to the game. More in the full article.

The name id Software is a legendary one among long-time PC gamers, and they've now started to branch out into the console market with the upcoming action-RPG/racer Rage (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) and the new Wolfenstein game (PC, PS3, Xbox 360). The latter title, as revealed by id Software's Todd Hollenshead to GameSpot, will be one of the games present at E3, along with some "new stuff".
