Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition to be distributed through Steam - Image 1According to an announcement from both Capcom and Valve, Capcom will be distributing PC versions of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix as well as future PC titles through Valve's Steam platform.

"Steam is the right place for us to go with our titles," said Mark Beaumont, executive vice president of Capcom American and European consumer software publishing, who also noted Capcom's increased push towards digital distribution. "Valve has created a huge installed base of gamers who naturally fit with the profiles of the titles that Capcom develops."

Proein to be distributing Capcom titles in Spain - Image 1Proein has signed a deal with Capcom to distribute their titles in Spain. Proein, which is Eidos Interactive's publishing arm in the Spain, signed a pretty big deal which includes the rights to games such as the ever popular Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Moto GP, and even new titles from the Mega Man franchise.

Mark Beaumont, the Executive VP and head of Capcom consumer software publishing in Europe and the US, spoke on this deal and why they made the decision to partner-up with Proein.

Capcom has successfully worked with Proein for a number of years and have been impressed by their professionalism and unrivaled market knowledge. We are really pleased to take the relationship to the next level by choosing Proein as our sole distributor for Spain.

Proein's MD Mercedes Rey shared the same sentiments saying that "We are delighted that Capcom has chosen Proein as its partner in Spain to distribute its games. Capcom is a leading worldwide developer that owns some of most renowned franchises in the history of gaming." Both groups should be happy considering Spain has a solid market for quality titles and Capcom has been known to deliver the goods with each one.

Devil May Cry 4 for PS3, 360, and PC - Image 1

Looks like Capcom gave us a bit of a run-around. January 27: PSM says DMC4 goes 360. January 31: Capcom says DMC4 stays PS3. Today: Capcom says DEVIL MAY CRY® 4 EXPLODING ONTO MULTIPLE PLATFORMS (as replicated from the press release). The title of Capcom's official statement hit us hard and sent us flying into the air like demon-marionettes. HUWHAT?!

In the official press release, Capcom's announced that Devil May Cry 4 (already under PS3 development) is already also being developed for both the Xbox 360 and and PC. Specifics haven't been revealed, however, it states that each version will maximize the power of the specific platform it will be released in. Capcom Executive VP adds:

Capcom is committed to making its titles available to as wide an audience as possible, and has been building its technology base to meet that goal. This announcement means that PS3, Xbox 360, and PC owners worldwide will be able to experience the latest installment of one of Capcom's pillar franchises.

This has just been an announcement about development on the 360 and PC platforms. As for exclusive features and specific release dates for each version, we've yet to receive word. Since we're pretty much burning up here in anticipation, be sure you stick for more updates. We'll pass 'em on as they come along.
