Clive Barker's Jericho from Codemasters and Mercury Steam (PC, Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360) just right around the corner, fans and FPS fanatics are certainly getting ready for some fine blast 'em up action involving lots of guns, and lots of undead baddies. And to get us all hyped is this introductory video of the last member of the Jericho Squad, Captain Xavier Jones.

He may be the last team member to get his introduction video, but he's definitely not the least - as he sports the ability to not only see potential threats from a distance via Seer magic, but also possess enemies for a brief period of time. This lets him control the ghoulies and send them into their own self-destruction. A flaming, explosion-flavored sort of self-destruction.

Oh, and he's got this shotgun/submachine hybrid dealie of a weapon. That's cool too. Enjoy the video.

No military outfit is complete without a medic, and Father Paul Rawlings of the Jericho Squad fulfills that role in Mercury Steam and Codesmasters' Clive Barker's Jericho for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Let's get better acquainted with the man of the cloth that speaks softly, and carries two very big handguns.

In the video, we get a look at how Father Paul not only fills the role of medic - being able to revive fallen team members from a distance - but also the team's resident exorcist, able to make the ghouls and ghosts in Clive Barker's Jericho writhe in pain or explode into chunks.  And from the way he uses his weapons, he's not averse to the idea of using guns, as we see that he can pretty much handle the monstrous recoil of his dual pistols.

Check out the video below to see the good Father Paul Rawlings in action in Clive Barker's Jericho. Enjoy!

In Clive Barker's Jericho for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 from Mercury Steam and Codemasters, the player is in full command of a group of individuals bristling with firepower and special abilities. And in this video update, we get an up-close and personal look at one of those individuals, namely Corporal Simone Cole of the Jericho Squad.

What's so special about Corporal Simone Cole? It might be the fact that her visor can point out weak spots in enemies which she can easily target, and that she can hack reality. That's right. Hacking reality as we know it - and we see this in action in her intro video below.

Of course, if she could hack reality, couldn't she hack the monsters away? Probably not, but she can make reality do one thing - make time go slower for your enemies. So while they're moving in slow motion, you're pretty much free to pump lead into them without fear of retaliation. Talk about overkill.

Clive Barker's Jericho is certainly looking awesome. Enjoy!

Clive Barker's Jericho - Image 1

Avid fans of horror-themed video games should scream in delight this time: demos of Clive Barker's Jericho for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, and the PC will be arriving this week. The PC version will come in Wednesday, while the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 versions will go live on Thursday on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, respectively.

The demos of Clive Barker's Jericho will have gamers attempting to survive the Crusades period after their strike force has been weakened by forces controlling the Al-Khali. Players will be able to use the bodies and abilities of telekinetic sniper Lt. Abigail Black, heavy-weapons expert Sgt. Frank Delgado, and enchantress and martial weapons specialist Sgt. Billie Church. Gamers will also get a chance to look at the other creatures Clive Barker has created for Jericho.

Mercury Steam and Codemasters' Clive Barker's Jericho games are scheduled for a late October 2007 release.

Mercury Steam is kicking up some serious hype regarding their upcoming project Clive Barker's Jericho. It's an FPS unlike most others as you combine the occult with some grade-A shooting fun. This trailer introduces Sgt. Wilhelmina "Billie" Church, one of the members of the elite Jericho Squad from the Department of Occult Warfare designed to fight the unexplained threats to US national interest. Check her out:

Whoa! If you thought that Sgt. Church looked like some ninja blood mage, you're right on the money. Sgt. Church is the group's resident agility specialist who also wields the power to cast powerful spells using her own blood as the medium. On top of that, she's also very good at just about any weapon, making her a whirlwind of doom to anything that comes her way.

The Jericho Squad are on the biggest assignment that their department has ever faced: stopping the diabolical Firstborn from opening a gate of chaos that will spell the end of life as we know it. This fantasy horror is slated for the PC, The Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360.

Clive Barker's Jericho special edition - Image 1Here's a strange tidbit about Clive Barker's Jericho (for PS3, Xbox 360, PC) of Mercury Steam. It turns out that the game's neat Steelbook Special Edition is only available in select countries, for specific consoles.

Here's how it goes: UK gets the Clive Barker's Jericho Special Edition for both PS3 and the Xbox 360, while US gets the Special Edition only for the Xbox 360. Spain and Benelux will be able to snag the SEs for the PlayStation 3 console. No word is out if there will be Special Edition copies available for the PC version of the game.

Just so you know, what sets the Special apart from the vanilla-flavored copies of the game is the artbook, packed with illustrations depicting the game's environments, monsters, and characters mostly drawn by Clive Barker himself.

Another distinguishing feature of Clive Barker's Jericho SE is its gorgeous Steelbook packaging, so that you'll be able to properly protect your valuable game discs. The neat Steelbook packaging already sounds like a valid reason to get the Special Edition of the game as it is.

More updates as they come!

Clive Barker's Jericho offers one of the most interesting premises we've heard in quite a while. You are the leader of the Jericho Squad, a secret special forces unit trained to protect US interests against the paranormal. Together with your squad, you venture into the corrupted city of Al Khalid, which hosts a threat of apocalyptic proportions.

Slowly but surely, you will uncover the trail which will lead you to the Firstborn: God's secret creation before Adam and Eve were brought into the world. It's up to you to combine military tactics with supernatural abilities to survive the horror in this upcoming FPS on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Mercury Steam has recently released two gorgeous screens depicting the game's characters. We know what the actual gameplay will look like, and these images are indicative of the good things that past peeks have shown. Lookin' good!

Much like Clive Barker, Codemasters and Mercury Steam certainly know how to grab a person's attention and keep it. We recently found a new promotional video for Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) over at IGN, and it managed to ask an important question: WHY do we need an occult warfare department anyway?

Needless to say, this minute-long clip answers that question by interspersing real actors and similarly real-looking events of pyrokinesis, exorcism, and telekinesis with in-game footage. What is the answer to the question posed above you might wonder... it's simple really.

Someone has to kill those supernatural monstrosities, and who better to do it than people endowed with their own supernatural gifts? In any case, view the short trailer and see the light (so to speak) for yourself.

Once again, it's time to take out your sniper rifles and machine guns. Codemasters and Mercury Steam have once again released another trailer for Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3, Xbox 360), and this time, it's got bosses.

In addition to facing your usual spear-wielding demons, Jericho introduces two interesting new bosses for people to kill. Not much is known about the two of them, but they're certainly creepy. The first one is a morbidly obese fellow suspended in the air by hooks. In the video, you'll see him gushing out blood... a LOT of blood, blood enough to cover your POV and distort your character's vision.

The second boss you'll see in this quick clip is your typical levitating, fire-wielding monstrosity. The big difference is that he's got some sort of burning minion who runs around trying to kill you while you're busy trying to take down his master, who's also busy sending fireballs your way.

If that doesn't sound like a recipe for supernatural horror, we don't know what does. In any case, enjoy the video we have for you.

Clive Barker's Jericho website now up - Image 1

When was the last time a game actually freaked you out? I couldn't name one game after Silent Hill. That's before MercurySteam and Codemasters' Clive Barker's Jericho came into the picture. After seeing the video clips of the game, you'll have trouble trying to sleep with the light on again.

If you haven't heard of the game, its not too late to get on board. The official website for Clive Barker's Jericho (Xbox360, PS3, and PC) is now up and it has a lot of little details that may catch your attention, whether you like it or not. Here's a complete feature list for the game that the site has to offer:
  • Download the latest thrilling videos
  • View stunning screen shots
  • Navigate through a series of different chambers containing hidden features and heart stopping surprises
  • There are puzzle-like challenges to complete in order to see secret, locked content and rooms
Themes that were explored in the game are also brought to light such as the reference to Jericho. It does not refer to the ancient lost city itself but a seven-man strike force that "protects government interests" from paranormal threats. This crack team of elite soldiers have been trained in both conventional warfare and can be considered an expert in different para-psychological disciplines such as clairvoyance, alchemy, blood magic and exorcism.

If you want to know more on this and the game, click on our read link to head to their website. We'd just like to throw a disclaimer that this site isn't for kids. If you're old enough though, head on over and find out more about Clive Barker's Jericho.
