Electronic Arts is most certainly proud to announce today the record-breaking launch of the latest iteration in the FIFA videogame franchise, FIFA 10 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2 and PC). In its first week alone, said title has earned over 1.7 million copies throughout European retail.

Finally stepping up to the plate in defense of video games is Electronic Arts exec Peter Moore -- and to Mr. President, Barack Obama himself, no less! After recommending that kids should play out in the sunshine more rather than play videogames indoor, in his speech to the American Medical Association, Obama has now been challenged by Moore to get into a 30-Day Challenge.

"It's time to stop bad-mouthing EA." This is what David Rutter, producer for Electronic Arts FIFA game franchise, had to say to the naysayers and critics that have nothing but the worst to say about his company. There has been a lot of EA-bashing for some time now, so Rutter comes to EA's defense, with a small confession of his own.

The music industry has spoken out about the five British developers and publishers going after illegal file-sharers in the UK. What of the other players in the gaming industry? We have yet to hear any official word on the matter from other developers or publishers, but Peter Moore - in his personal capacity - has talked about it, and he'd have to agree... with the music industry.
