Enemy Territory: Quake Wars 1.2 Update - Image 1 So not one month after the 1.1 client update came out, id Software has released the 1.2 Update for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Along with the update release is also comes an update for some server files.

Due to the size of the updated server files, it's no longer updated via a server update. Rather, players should download a full installer available at ETQW's site. The 1.2 Update can be downloaded via the in-game updater or you can, like the server file updates, download the update from the ETQW site.

The 1.2 Update notes are also out, and can be viewed in the same page as the downloads. There are some pretty big changes, including a voice over IP addition so be sure to take a peek.

Follow the read link below to visit the download page and to take a gander at the update notes. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is also available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 home video game consoles.

Chart Track UK for the week ending September 29 - Image 1

Chart Track UK has announced the games topping their all-format charts ending for the week ending September 29. Much like the warm welcome it enjoyed in North America, Bungie Studios' Halo 3 finds an equally receptive gaming audience in the UK as it takes the top post.

FIFA 08 (PS3, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360) currently holds the second place, followed by MySims, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, and Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars client update 1.1 released - Image 1The 1.1 client update has been released for the Beta of id Software's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars on the PC. This patch is completely automated and shouldn't be a problem for most players.

In case you do experience some technical difficulties, the developer has also provided a few external mirrors where players can download and manually patch their Beta clients.

The update adds a few minor fixes for compatibility, bot AI, as well as improvements on gameplay balance and server connections. The program should be running more smoothly now with all the changes that have been added to the game.

Here's the changelog of the program as taken from the game's development blog:
  • Updated Linux client compatibility
  • Fixed performance drop of soft particles on some graphics cards
  • Removed XP award for destroying newly spawned vehicles (spawn camping)
  • Improved bot control of the GDF Titan Tank
  • Fixed dedicated LAN server administrators reverting to default group on map change
  • Fixed players occasionally not being able to change the mission they are on
  • Server Launcher now clears the map rotation when changing game mode
  • Fixed localized clients reverting to unlocalized if player starts a lite server on the same PC
  • Fixed image pure check (anti-cheating) erroneously failing for MegaTextures
The PC version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is slated for an October 2 release. In case you're not much of a PC gamer, it is also slated to be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - Image 1Gamers won't be waiting too long for the demo and the release of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for the PC. The Enemy Territory community site has revealed that the demo comes out on September 10, while the full game will be released on October 2 in North America.

European and Australian fans will be glad to know that they'll be getting Splash Damage's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars a bit earlier. It ships September 28 in PAL territories.

The game is a first-person shooter based on team play and strategy. Players can choose from five classes on each of the two factions and take on roles that can make or break a team. The story tells the tale of the human race's struggle against an alien threat coming from the vicious Strogg.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Sony PlayStation 3 multi-platformer.
