With Blizzard focusing on the World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm, and the long-awaited Starcraft II, Diablo III has taken the backseat and will not even be making it to 2010. According to Blizzard exec Rob Pardo, they announce games too early, and then they find themselves focusing more on quality than merely meeting the deadline. |

Blizzard isn't budging, nor are they worrying over the incessant demand for them to bring back LAN to StarCraft II.
Even Executive Vice President of game design Rob Pardo is not at all
flustered by the gaining unpopularity of their decision to stick with
Battle.net and leave LAN crying out in the corner. For him, it's "no
big deal." |

Still from BlizzCon, Blizzard has announced another treat for their loyal fans, this time for StarCraft II,
in the form of a new Marketplace service to go live in the near future.
Of course, this is still aligned to their Battle.net world domination
strategy. Read up in the full article. |

If you've got qualms about the StarCraft II delay, blame it on WoW. Speaking to Eurogamer, the guys at Blizzard reveal that the reason we've been waiting so long for StarCraft II is because World of Warcraft held it up. Details after the jump. |

Well, that pretty much rules out any possibility that Diablo 3 will be an MMO. Okay, so maybe there wasn't need for doubt. Since Diablo 3's announcement is out, we probably have just one more rumor to confirm: the Team 3 project. Blizzard never hinted on the upcoming RPG's relations to the mysterious 50-man team still laboring away inside the company walls. Maybe Team 3 is responsible for developing Diablo 3 for the past four years, or maybe - just maybe - they're actually part of this secretive next-gen MMO project. Or something along those lines. Paul Sams, a name we're somehow also hearing from the Diablo 3-on-console rumor veins, may be so bold to call on Microsoft to do something for the Windows end of their business, but the chief of operations at Blizzard Entertainment does believe Microsoft should take the steps. More on Sams' opinions at the full story. |

Rumor mill history is repeating itself as we find yet another bout of rumor-spreading akin to how StarCraft 2 whispers started, and this time it's for yet another of Blizzard's epic franchises: Diablo. Buzz elevated Blizzard's acquisition of Diablo3.com, followed by the changing displays on the splash page, showing references of runes to Diablo 2. Now it's only been heightened even more as Blizzard's VP of design revealed that they have sensational revelation to be made at the WWI in Paris. Will the rumors have the same fate as SC2 and will Diablo 3 be finally announced? |
