Treyarch is also getting in on 4th of July celebrations in the US with a double XP weekend event for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii versions of Call of Duty: World at War. Treyarch has been riding high on the success of Call of Duty: World At War, but that doesn't mean they're done updating the game. They've recently outlined the changes included in the next patch for the game's PC version.

Despite criticisms that Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) isn't as good as its predecessor Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), Treyarch should still be happy with this outcome - the fifth installment to the Call of Duty franchise has sold over 11 million units since its launch back in November 2008.

Treyarch has released the second map pack for Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) earlier, just in time for the Double XP Weekend that ends 10AM PST on Tuesday. As an additional incentive to go and get the US$ 9.99 download, the devs themselves will be gearing for battle and you can pit your skills against the masterminds that brought you the new map pack.

This doesn't really come as a surprise, but if any of you guys had doubts, time to put a stake through its heart. Call of Duty 7 (which is rumored to be set in Vietnam) is already under development, and yes, it's indeed coming from Treyarch.

Is Call of Duty 7 to be set in Vietnam and Cuba? That is the information that TVGB's insider source claims, after said source picked it up from... get this... the music that Activision is looking to license for the game. What, did he hear a Đàn nguyệt (moon lute) being played in the meeting room?

If you thought Call of Duty: World at War (PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) is coming a bit too quick off the heels of the excellent Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), wait 'til you hear this one: another game in the franchise is coming out in 2009! Activision is getting ready to launch its Quantum of Solace game in time for the James Bond movie of the same name's debut later this year.
