It's official. Monolith's Project Origin (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will no longer be a "spiritual successful" to their own hit shooter F.E.A.R. Instead, it's now a full-blown sequel. yes folks, after a peculiar set of circumstances that left Monolith without the rights to their own game's name, they have finally regained access to the F.E.A.R. brand. |

We don't know what execs were thinking at the head of the big gaming entity that is Activision Blizzard, but they're definitely giving up something good here. Right now, we have heard official word that RTS-experts Massive Entertainment won't be a part of the deal anymore, but the developer doesn't seem jaded at all. Read on for more of Massive Entertainment's fate. |

It was a bit of a letdown when Activision Blizzard didn't include Ghostbusters: the video game (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PC) in its list of releases for the remainder of 2008. Vivendi, however, indicated that all is not lost as they will be exploring other options on how to release it. The game will have to come in 2009, but someone has to pick up the publishing reins first. |

Officially there's praise for Blizzard's take of the third sequel to
the long-favored Diablo series, though most of the team members behind Diablo II and it's expansion Lord of Destruction
requested that their comments won't go on record. Two team members have
stood out, however, and offered what they feel Blizzard has managed to
do for Diablo III. |

Some shareholders were apparently not too pleased when Activision and Vivendi made known their plans to form a merger, and filed an injunction suit in an attempt to stop the development in its tracks. All was for naught, however, when the court denied the request to intervene in the planned merger. More details in the full article. |

Contrary to what the many fans who shook their heads in disbelief believed when the news of the two publisher's pending merger hit the press, the deal apparently wasn't spurred by Vivendi and Activision. In fact, Paul Sams of Blizzard Entertainment revealed that the merger was pretty much their decision as well - or at least, they chose the company they wished to merge with.
